Cleaning of Insulating Sleeves

To clean insulating sleeves, wash them with mild soap and rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.

Use only water and mild soap to clean the identification label area. This is very important.

Allow the sleeves to air dry, away from direct sunlight and sources of ozone or excessive heat.

Before use, a visual inspection of both the inside and outside surfaces is recommended.

PROTS Insulating Sleeves Warranty

The manufacturer or supplier shall replace, at no cost to the purchaser, any unused sleeves that fail to pass the tests specified in this standard at any time within a period of 7 (seven) months from the date of receipt of the batch.

This warranty shall be valid only if the sleeves have been properly stored and have not been subjected to more than one original acceptance test and one retest. If a retest is performed within the warranty period stated above, the manufacturer must be notified in advance.

Service Life

PROTS recommends replacing the equipment every 5 years.

Insulating sleeves should be stored in a suitable container, bag, or sleeve packaging. Care should be taken to ensure that the sleeves are not compressed, folded, or stored near steam pipes, radiators, or other sources of artificial heat, nor exposed to direct sunlight, artificial light, or other sources of ozone.

It is recommended that the ambient temperature be maintained between 10°C and 35°C.

According to Section 10.7.8 of NR-10, insulating equipment, tools, or equipment fitted with insulating materials intended for high-voltage work must undergo periodic electrical testing or laboratory testing in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and/or the company's procedures, and in the absence of such procedures, at least annually.

It is recommended that insulating sleeves be tested every 6 (six) months when in service and every 1 (one) year when out of service.
